Best Baby Bottle Drying Rack for Most People
Baby bottles are a necessity for almost any family with an infant. Whether you’re a full-time bottle user or only need them every once in a while, you’ll want a place to wash and dry bottles, cups, pumping parts, etc. We don’t have a lot of counter space, so I knew we would need something that was compact. The ones that look like grass and flowers are cute, but you can only get so many parts on that green surface. That’s why I set out to find the best baby bottle drying rack.
What factors did we consider important to determine the best baby bottle drying rack? After looking through the most popular choices, we decided that the factors listed below were necessary to declare a winner in this category.
- Must have high storage capacity
- Small enough to fit on limited counter space
- Flexible to accommodate a variety of items — not just bottles
- Draining option so there is no standing water
- Easy to assemble and disassemble
- Quick and easy to clean
Best Baby Bottle Drying Rack
I was ecstatic when I saw a friend using the Munchkin High Capacity Drying Rack. She was constantly washing and drying pump parts and bottles, so I knew this rack could handle whatever I would throw at it. I picked one up for myself and got it set up right away. It was very easy to put together. The bottom rack slides right down the main pole. The top rack has three height options, depending on how much space you need on the bottom shelf. There is also a drain spout with two positions. You can have the water run out of the rack and into a sink, or you can allow the water to collect in the built-in tray and empty it when necessary. I chose to use the tray option, which has worked well so far.
Another nice attribute of the best baby bottle drying rack is the fold-down pegs. I can choose to raise the pegs when I need to use them. This keeps the rack looking sleek and organized. I can also disassemble the rack quickly if I need to clean it or store it away. In a few minutes, I can wash the whole rack so it looks like new. If you need it for traveling, just take it apart and store it flat in a suitcase or bag. You can put it together in a few seconds when you arrive at your destination.
Lastly, the best baby bottle drying rack has all kinds of spaces and holes to dry any kind of item. There are holes to hang straws, cut-outs for different sized nipples and pacifiers, slots for spatulas, etc. You can dry baggies, bowls, silverware, water bottles and toppers, you name it!
A Newer Option from Munchkin
Munchkin has a more recent version of their drying rack that is specifically tailored to their Latch bottle system. They’re calling it the Munchkin Latch Spinning Drying Rack. The main difference is that there is a small cup at the top to dry spoons or other small items. Other than that, the racks function exactly the same. There is the same number of pegs and options as there is with our best baby bottle drying rack. Not everyone will want or need to spend the extra $4 to get the cup at the top, so we’re considering this a step-up from our best baby bottle drying rack. If it continues to grow in popularity, this may become Munchkin’s standard rack. We would love to see it eventually drop in price and become the #1 seller!
Drying Racks We Eliminated
Here’s a brief list of everything else we considered. We looked at racks based on popularity and features. Unfortunately, none of them met enough of our requirements to contend with our main pick. Even after considering these, we still chose the Munchkin High Capacity Drying rack as the best baby bottle drying rack.
The First Years Spin Stack Drying Rack: This rack was a close second, but it is missing one feature that our best baby bottle drying rack includes. The First Years rack does not have pegs that fold down. They can easily get in the way if you are trying to dry something larger on the rack and need more flat space. Other users mentioned the pegs falling off when trying to dry glass bottles. Our best baby bottle drying rack can handle pretty much any bottle, including glass bottles.
Boon Grass Countertop Drying Rack: This one gets good reviews, but it nearly impossible to get all the blades clean. The manufacturer states that it is not dishwasher safe, so you can soak it soapy water, but you’ll never get all the scum clean between the blades. Our best baby bottle drying rack can be cleaned in just a few minutes by disassembling it and scrubbing by hand. The pieces are also dishwasher safe. Not only that, but the Grass Rack does not have a way to easily dump excess water. The user would need to completely separate the top grass piece and dump the bottom tray, which would not be easy to do if it is fully loaded with bottles and parts!
Munchkin Deluxe Drying Rack: If you don’t need the space or versatility of our best baby bottle drying rack, this might be what you need. It has a very specific purpose of just drying bottle and pumping parts. The capacity is also much less than Munchkin’s High Capacity Drying Rack, hence the name. These people are so clever.
Munchkin Sprout Drying Rack: Another Munchkin option offers more versatility without the capacity. There is a reservoir to collect water, but no dump tray or easy way to get rid of the water.
Philips AVENT Drying Rack: Philips’ version of the drying rack does not offer much space. You can fit a few bottles and tops on this, but beware of heavy glass bottles. This rack would only work for a very light user who only needs to dry a couple bottles at a time.
Dr. Brown’s Universal Drying Rack: This rack does a decent job of offering versatility as far as places to store pumping and bottle parts. However, it is not strong enough to handle large glass bottles (or my wine glass).
Playtex SmartSpace Drying Rack: The main complaint here is that it tends to fall apart as you’re using it. The pegs and drying sections are not attached in any way, so the racks fall out when trying to remove bottles or feeding parts.
OXO Tot Bottle and Accessories Drying Rack: OXO created a rack that can have a purpose beyond baby bottles. It’s basically just a standard drying rack. It claims to hold 8 bottles and parts, which pales in comparison to the 16 that our best baby bottle drying rack can handle. You may as well spend half the money and get twice the capacity.
Bloom Baby Bottle Drying Rack: One look at this rack, and it’s obvious that it will not hold much weight. The bottles are also at an intense angle versus sitting vertically, so you are more likely to end up with water spots and wetness inside.
